Assessment & Reporting

Assessment and reporting is an ongoing, collaborative partnership between students, teachers and parents.  The main goal is to inform and improve student learning.

Online Learning Journals
Students share evidence of their learning on a regular basis via ‘Online Learning Journals’. The purpose of Learning Journals is to demonstrate evidence of  students’ efforts, progress and achievements in many areas of the curriculum. We use Online Learning Journals as a way to share the collection of student work that richly represents each student as a learner and provides authentic evidence of learning.

The Seesaw Learning Journal App enables students and teachers to share photographs, recordings and learning presentations from their Class App directly to a linked Seesaw Parent App. The Seesaw Parent App can be accessed on smartphones, iPads and online.

Student Reports

Student reports are sent home in June and December. These reports indicate to students and parents the progress made and assist the students in reviewing their goal setting for future learning. Parent, student and teacher conferences are held in February and June.  An online booking system at is used for families to select a time that is suitable for all.

Student progress is continually monitored throughout the year. At the beginning and end of the year specific standardised literacy and number assessments are used. Ongoing assessment including observations, samples of work and self reflections assist in tracking student learning.

Assessment includes:

  • Early Years Literacy Assessment P-2 twice yearly.
  • Benchmark Assessment System
  • PAT Maths 1-6
  • NAPLAN Yrs 3 & 5
  • Ongoing monitoring of each unit of work is implemented at appropriate times.
