Our junior students follow a Discovery based approach to Inquiry. The students participate in 3 sessions of Discovery Learning each week as well as teacher led Inquiry Investigation sessions. Discovery Learning provides time for student-initiated play and investigations which allow for the development in Oral Language, Maths, Reading and Writing skills drawn from the Victorian Curriculum.
Underpinning our curriculum focus is the explicit teaching of dispositions to develop students who are: curious, collaborative, creative, problem solvers, resilient, self-managed and reflective.
All of our junior teachers are involved in the Discovery Based Learning Professional Development Program.
